You can read my book reviews here What I have recently read... "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity" by Bill O'Reilly - Worst book I ever read, period "The Overton Window" by Glenn Beck - Decent fiction, but compared to O'Reilly it's Ernest Hemingway "Memoirs of an Ordinary Pastor" by D.A. Carson - A Theologian writes about his dad, a very enjoyable reading experience "Unburdened" by Chris Tiegreen The Secret of letting God carry the things that weigh you down - Of mixed value, too much sloppy theology "Jesus Made in America" by Stephen J. Nichols A cultural history from the Puritans to the Passion of Christ - Highly recommended "Dig Deeper" by Nigel Beynon & Andrew Sach Tools for understanding God's Word - Recommended to all, especially Bible study beginners "40 Questions about Interpreting the Bible" by Robert L. Plummer - Recommended, but more as a reference volume "Living for God's Glory" by Joel R. Beeke -400 page introduction to Calvinism is recommended to those who are interested in learning from Calvinists themselves what they believe rather than the many baseless accusations of their critics "Apparent Danger" by David Stokes The Pastor of America's First Megachurch and the Texas Murder Trial of the Decade in the 1920s - A fascinating look at Dr. J. Frank Norris an early fundamentalist leader who shot an unarmed man to death in his church office
"What is the Gospel" by Greg Gilbert -Highly recommended, small book with big message that needs to be understood "Jesus the only way to God" by John Piper Must you hear the Gospel to be saved? - Piper answers yes, but like much of Piper's writings this is not a book for shallow readers "The Fruitful Life" by Jerry Bridges The overflow of God's love through you - Highly recommended, another great book from one of my favorite authors "The Trellis and the Vine" by Colin Marshall and Tony Payne The Ministry mind-set that changes everything - Recommended for those in ministry to help rethink ministry "Assurance of Salvation" by Matthew C. Hoskinson Implications of a New Testament Theology of Hope - Recommended only for advanced students
